Baidu, China’s leading internet search engine, was making its entry into the Egyptian market, and the goal was clear—drive app downloads and introduce its unique features to the youth audience. To achieve this, we needed an activation strategy that put the brand directly in front of its target users in a high-traffic, social environment.
We chose Azhar Park, a lively destination in the heart of Old Cairo, known for attracting thousands of young visitors, especially during vacations and public holidays. This made it the perfect location to interact with a large crowd, spark curiosity, and encourage app adoption.
Our activation team engaged with park visitors, demonstrating the Baidu app, highlighting its key features, and explaining how it could enhance their online search experience. To further encourage participation, we distributed branded giveaways, creating excitement and a positive association with the brand.
The results were impactful—a significant number of downloads were generated, and Baidu began to build brand awareness in Egypt, marking a successful step in its market expansion.
